SNAP spotlights a Spokane weatherization project SPOKANE (10/28/15) – SNAP is honoring Washington Weatherization Day on October 30 by spotlighting a weatherization project at a home in West Spokane. Last year, SNAP completed 586 home repairs and weatherized 305 homes. Despite funding challenges that make it impossible to reach every household on the waiting list, Chris Davis, SNAP’s Director of Housing Services, said the work is making a difference. “Community Action agencies and other providers of low-income weatherization services across the Washington are focusing on a new initiative called Weatherization Plus Health”, Davis said. “We’re excited that some state funding is now available to address asthma triggers and other home health hazards along with the energy efficiency work we have provided for many years. We believe that every individual should have the opportunity to live in a safe and affordable dwelling.” Contact SNAP to join us at the weatherization project on Friday, October 30 and learn more about how SNAP weatherization projects impact our community.
