Dear Friend,
At SNAP, we know that people don’t just need a handout—they need a hand up. That’s why we don’t just hand out help. We offer hope.
I see it every day in my work leading Energy Assistance. Whether it’s keeping the heat on in the dead of winter, helping someone get their taxes filed, or making sure a neighbor can get to their doctor’s appointment—our work makes an immediate difference. And it’s possible because of people like you.
People are doing everything they can to get by—skipping meals to pay rent, forgoing medication to keep the lights on, holding things together while hoping for more. The folks we serve aren’t looking for a shortcut. They’re doing their best. And when you give, you help carry the load.
You’ve given to SNAP before… thank you. Your generosity has already helped create stability and hope for thousands of Spokane neighbors. You’ve made a difference.
And there’s more we can do—together.
Because when you give, you’re not just helping someone cover a bill—you’re creating space for someone to breathe again, to stabilize, to hope for a different future.
That’s the power of what we do together.
That’s the power of SNAP.
If you haven’t seen it yet, I encourage you to take a moment to watch our newest video. You’ll hear from real clients and staff about what this work means—and the impact your renewed support can make.
This Community Action Month, I hope you’ll consider giving again. Every dollar helps meet a need. Every act of generosity helps someone take the next step forward. Will you please donate today?
Thank you for being part of this work—and for offering hope.
With deep gratitude,

Carmen Groom
SNAP Energy Manager
P.S. You never know what one moment of support can spark—a warm home, a second chance, a future reimagined. It all starts with you.
Our partners at the Department of Commerce graciously developed this video (co-starring SNAP’s Carmen Groom!) that shows the true impact SNAP has on the community.
We hope you’ll watch and share so others may also see the impact we make together.
