Their journey began in late 2020 when they met through a dating app. While Lego didn’t play a role in their initial connection, they soon discovered a mutual love for the timeless bricks. When Bryce began considering a new career path, owning a Lego-based store quickly became the winning idea. “Spokane was missing a store like this,” Bryce explained. “We wanted to make sure to execute the plan before it was too late.”

Rather than pursuing a franchise, Frankie and Bryce envisioned a local haven where creativity and connection could flourish. They turned to SCORE Spokane for guidance, and their advisor pointed them toward SNAP Financial Access. “We connected with SNAP the best,” they shared. “Everyone in their office was excited to watch and help us succeed. Since we had never owned a business before, we had many, many questions, and those were always met with kindness and a willingness to teach.” With SNAP’s support, Brick Buy Brick became a reality.

“SNAP gave us the gift of community for Lego enthusiasts throughout the Inland Northwest!”

The couple also values the unique challenges and rewards of running a business together. “We’ve had to be very intentional about setting time aside to talk and connect about things other than just the business,” they shared. “Starting a business together has also forced us to practice better communication.”

Beyond selling Lego, Brick Buy Brick celebrates creativity in all forms. “We’ve had a few children bring in their builds to display. One was an 8-year-old who built a model of the Milk Bottle restaurant, which was very impressive! Another was a 12-year-old’s western scene, complete with great storytelling and a slew of wild west buildings. The builds by adults are incredible, but the cool things kids come up with really take the cake.”
